PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
We designed this plate to minimize the risk of breaking the lateral cortex of the metatarsal when creating and distracting the osteotomy.
Because the plate is truncated and tapered to match the 1st tarsometatarsal medial profile, the plate can be placed more proximally on the metatarsal. This shifts the osteotomy to the metaphyseal area of bone, with increase mallealibility and healing potential than the diaphyseal area.
