The Grappler® R3INFORCE™ Extraosseous Repair System is designed to restore balance to the syndesmosis through repair of the AITFL, PITFL, or combination of the two. The system utilizes existing Grappler® Soft Tissue Anchors (all suture or titanium) in combination with a Ø4.2 mm Plate-Interfacing Screw Anchor Screw, Screwless Head Locking Anchor, and separate Ø4.75 mm Dynamic Knotless Anchor to reconstruct the lateral ankle ligaments. The system utilizes existing Grappler® Suture Anchor technology (all-suture or titanium) in combination with Plate-Interfacing Anchors (ø4.2mm or Screwless) and separate ø4.75mm Dynamic Knotless Anchors to reconstruct the lateral ankle ligaments. Unlike competitive offerings, the Grappler® R3INFORCE™ Anchors are applied following fracture fixation with a plate, simplifying placement and tensioning of the anchors. Upon fixation of the fracture and assessment of the instability, the Grappler® R3INFORCE™ Anchors can be placed (in appropriate plate holes or anatomic locations outside the plate) and the pre-loaded suture tape can be routed between anchors and tensioned to create the desired construct and restore alignment. Use of ø4.75mm Dynamic Knotless Anchors creates a self-balancing construct to promote proper alignment during healing. Included in the R3INFORCE™ System is the novel Dynamic Knotless Anchor, which introduces micromotion functionality to the repair construct during loading to further enable anatomic restoration.
This system is highly synergistic with Paragon 28’s existing offerings and can utilize the Grappler® Knotless Anchor System. This compatibility allows for multiple configurations for surgeons to cater their repairs to their own treatment philosophies. The Grappler® R3INFORCE™ Extraosseous Repair System comes sterile packed with all instrumentation needed to complete the case in multiple configurations reducing waste and interoperative complexity.
